20 Bible Verses on Contentment

We are a discontent people. Always chasing after the next pay raise, a better vacation, a more prestigious car, or a higher standard of living. It’s an exhausting, never-ending pursuit. Just when we think we’ve finally arrived at our dream, the dream fades into the ordinary, and a new, just-out-of-reach goal takes its place.
The first dream lied. It never delivered on its promises. Yet we throw ourselves after the next one, convinced that this time will be different. This time it will finally work.
You’ve been there. So have I. So have we all.
But you were not designed for this endless cycle of striving. You were designed to pursue something that truly satisfies, something that refreshes your soul and brings lasting contentment.
The Bible points us to what brings that kind of contentment. Here are twenty verses that show you where it can truly be found:

Keep falsehood and deceitful words far from me. Give me neither poverty nor wealth; feed me with the food I need. Otherwise, I might have too much and deny you, saying, ‘Who is the Lord?’ or I might have nothing and steal, profaning the name of my God. - Proverbs 30:8–9
The one who loves silver is never satisfied with silver, and whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with income. This too is futile. - Ecclesiastes 5:10
